East Lancashire Girl Stars at Prestigious GHD Fashion Show

 

An evening of spectacular entertainment, ultimate fashion and creativity took part on the 21st of October at the established GHD head Quarters in Leeds Centre. Well-known hair stylist Georgie Mathers as well as , up & coming Northern Fashion designer Giorgia Smithies showcased their creativity in what was not only a fusion of fashion, but a display of contemporary  hair styles to compliment each other.  Raising money  for the Martin House Charity care for Children and Young People with progressive life limiting illnesses, and provide support to their families. As well as care for children and young people from throughout the Yorkshire region.

At The Edge 09 Fashion Show and Awards , East Lancashire’s premier fashion event Giorgia achieved first prize at the awards ceremony. The award and prizes were presented by Industry recognised Julian Bennet most famous as the director of Liverpool Fashion Week, Whilst showcasing her collection Giorgia’s Designs were noticed by representatives of Westrow hair salon who are affiliates of accessories giant GHD. A commissioned collection followed for the established show in which directors of major salons were present. Giorgia’s Designs were exquisite, combining monochrome tonnes, with exaggerated silhouettes.

Launching her clothing label with an Autumn/Winter Collection in 2010/11. The brand Joja Designs is growing  from strength to strength after generating publicity and work from events like this, and support from local designer store Scruples Menswear, featuring the label In their Seasonal magazine, with confirmed shows taking place in Manchester, Yorkshire and London Giorgia is eagerly anticipating expanding her brand.
